In partnership with Cornhusker Bank, we celebrated the Day Without Shoes campaign from April 22 through May 4, 2024. Members of the community as well as our OFCU members did some major spring cleaning and shopping — all in an effort to donate new and gently worn shoes! What started as a few pairs collected at the campaign’s beginning, turned into nearly 75 new and gently worn pairs donated! Thank you for supporting this great mission for the Stephen Center!
A Day Without Shoes raises awareness about how shoes can affect a child’s or adult’s life. For some people, shoes are not a big deal, just another basic item that one can always afford. But, for other people, shoes can be a luxury — something they can hardly afford. Millions of children and adults around the globe oftentimes are not fortunate enough to have shoes to protect their feet. A Day Without Shoes gives us the empathetic experience of going through our days shoeless.
Held every April, this campaign encourages the community to get involved in something bigger than themselves.
All OFCU branch donations will benefit and help support the Stephen Center (Omaha Campaign).
Since there is always a great need for a variety of items, feel free to check out the ongoing Amazon wish lists that relay the Stephen Center’s additional needs.
