In partnership with Cornhusker Bank, we are celebrating the Day Without Shoes campaign from April 22 through May 4, 2024. Spring Cleaning? Well, don’t toss your new and gently worn shoes! Instead, bring them — whether it is a few pairs or a lot of pairs! — to any branch and then pat yourself on the back for donating to this important cause. Clearly marked receptacles will be inside each branch April 22 through May 4.
A Day Without Shoes raises awareness about how shoes can affect a child’s or adult’s life. For some people, shoes are not a big deal, just another basic item that one can always afford. But, for other people, shoes can be a luxury — something they can hardly afford. Millions of children and adults here in the U.S. and around the globe oftentimes are not fortunate enough to have shoes to protect their feet. A Day Without Shoes is for us to join the experience of going through the day shoeless.
Held every April, this campaign encourages the community to get involved in something bigger than themselves — all in an effort to help struggling people get a pair of shoes.
In lieu of shoes, cash donations are also accepted at any branch. There are also online wish lists that relay the Stephen Center’s additional needs.
All OFCU branch donations benefit and help support the Stephen Center (Omaha Campaign). Thank you in advance for your willingness to participate in this event.
